National Careers Week - Maritime Roadshow for Girls

Maritime UK Solent, in partnership with Solent Partners, is running a Maritime Roadshow for Girls - a careers event for girls aged 11 - 14 years old, to inspire and impassion them into the world of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM), topics that many reject at an early stage in their education. We are seeking women who work in STEM-related jobs to take part in four speed networking session with the students between 10am and 2pm on 5 March at Cowes Enterprise College on the Isle of Wight. 

The Maritime Roadshow for Girls is being run as part of National Careers Week. We aim to encourage the equal participation and leadership of girls in STEM, as tackling the current gender gap could not only help address the skills gap in the STEM workforce, but would also lead to economic growth and job creation.

Women from across the region are invited to take part, and we are particularly keen to welcome women who work on the Isle of Wight to illustrate the types of inspiring, interesting jobs and careers which exist on the Island as well as the mainland.
